Jimmy and I went to Hinckley on Sunday to see Steve Moore (the Mad Drummer) in action. I took these pictures using Action Snap on my phone (the setting was .5 seconds between shots) while Rick K and the Allnighters played Sharp Dressed Man.  A random fan shot this video in June 2010 and the video quickly went viral.


Within weeks, Steve was recognized by Modern Drummer, Drummerworld, Ludwig, Sabian, Evans, Pro-Mark, Tosh.0, Yahoo, and was the topic of every drum forum on the web. Steve has since appeared at muliple drum festivals (more at Steve's web site).

Jimmy and I got a chance to talk to Steve between sets. He's very unassuming.


This is from the  stage prop diagram for the Vegas Flash Show with Horns. The Horns weren't at the Hinckley show. I wonder if they'll be going to Russia with the band.

Rick K and the Allnighters will be back in Hinckley in June.

Little Dog Trying To Sleep On Big Dog

 From the back, the little dog sure looks a lot like Angie! Even though the shape of its snout, which you can only see in the bottom image, looks very different from Angie's they could be related. Angie likes sleeping on people so I wouldn't put it past her to try to sleep on a large dog.

 I tried to find out more about this image but couldn't. It's been posted all over tumbler in the last 3 days. Clicking backwards through links it appears that the first postings were in Japan which means that this dog isn't one of Angie's relatives.

Weather Predictions

Back in October, the Accuweather Long Range Forecasting Team predicted another brutally cold and snowy winter for Minneapolis.

They also predicted that the temperature in Minneapolis would drop below zero on more than 30 days.

Sometimes it's a really good thing that weather prediction is such an inexact science.    We've only had 3 days this winter when the temperature dropped below zero and our season to date snowfall  is less than 23 inches. It's supposed to get up to 70 tomorrow and 75 on Wednesday. Now I'm just hoping it's not a really hot summer!
